Description

The Siemens 3RW5227-1AC04 SIRIUS Soft Starter is a premium hybrid switching device engineered for reliable and controlled motor starting in demanding industrial environments. With a rated current of 93A at 40°C and operating voltage of 200–480V, this soft starter ensures reduced mechanical stress on motors and connected equipment by offering fully adjustable soft-start and soft-stop functionality. It also supports inside-delta connection, enabling higher motor power operation up to 90 kW at 400V.

This model includes an integrated bypass contact system, minimizing heat loss after startup and ensuring high operational efficiency. The adjustable current limit from 130–700%, ramp-up time up to 20 seconds, and soft torque & pump stop functions make it suitable for pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, and other mechanical load applications.

For system integration, the 3RW5227-1AC04 supports multiple optional communication modules including PROFINET, Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFIBUS, and EtherNet/IP, enabling seamless PLC and SCADA connectivity. An analog output (4–20 mA or 0–10 V) and digital outputs allow for real-time monitoring of motor load and status.

Built for heavy-duty use, the unit is certified with CE, UL, and CSA approvals and provides advanced protection features like electronic motor overload protection, intrinsic device protection, auto/manual reset, remote reset, and error logging (with HMI accessory). It withstands harsh ambient conditions with operating temperatures from –25°C to +60°C and installation altitude up to 5000 m with derating.
